Kaitlyn Schooley 

“I signed up for Durkin Sports Performance to prepare for the hockey season before I left for school. I really wanted to improve my leg strength and get more explosive on the ice. During my workouts, I began to notice a difference in my hockey shot and my skating speed as a result of the summer. I am looking forward for next summer to keep the improvement up on and off the ice. I love the small ratio of coaches to athletes, so there is more focus on the few people that are there rather than one big group. I also love how there is workout programs designed just specifically for you. I would absolutely recommend anyone to train here because you can truly reach your goals training here. I started working out with Coach Durkin through my moon lacrosse team in November, and then once summer started, I worked out every day there for three months before I left. During my summer, I have achieved certain goals I wanted to accomplish, plus more that I didn't even think of.”

What I found as a result from working with Durkin Sports Performance was that I got a lot bigger, faster, and stronger over the summer. I went 3 days a week and it proved in the end because I’m a lot stronger on the puck than I was before the summer and I can see my speed has gotten better. The specific Benefit I like from working with DSP was definitely the fact that Michael played hockey at a high level and that he knows what we need to work on. There’s a bunch of nice and funny people working here, and the workouts are flexible to each person! They Design a variety of workouts so you are not doing the same thing every time you come!”

"I signed up to prepare myself for the college soccer level. I wanted to become stronger and quicker and crush all my lifting tests this summer, and this was the perfect place to drive me to do that. I wanted to overcome a mentality of “not being able to do it.” I came here to push myself and overcome that thought of tiredness or soreness. After doing the workouts every other day, I felt stronger both physically and mentally. I found that I can push myself to lift heavier weights, jump higher distances and heights, and run faster.  I am very happy that I chose to sign up this year. The staff and other athletes are very friendly and the environment is perfect to push yourself because everyone else is pushing themselves to the best of their ability. I really like how all the workouts are received through the TeamBuildr App. I think it is nice to have the workouts already preset on my phone before coming. Plus, the workouts are a bit more individualized depending on what sport you play which I really like."

While working with Durkin sports performance over the last 3 years, I have put on over 40lbs and have become one of the fastest players on my team. I have become a top line forward in my freshmen year in the NCAA and cannot wait to see what the future holds for myself. "I first signed up in early 2020 to get stronger for volleyball. I knew that in the future I would want to play at the collegiate level and that Durkin would help me get there! At first I was nervous to go to the gym. I had never lifted before and I was nervous of getting made fun of while working out. Once I got to DSP the staff and other clients made me feel comfortable and made lifting enjoyable and fun. The most noticeable area in volleyball that I improved on after consistently going to DSP was my vertical and how much quicker I could get to balls while playing defense. My favorite thing about training at DSP is the overall environment in the gym. I have made several friends just from working out with them. I have also formed good bonds with the staff at Durkin's. I go to them when I need advice on sports or everyday things! I would recommend Durkin Sports Performance to any athlete or anyone that is looking to start working out. “I signed up with Durkin’s Sports Performance so I can improve not only my off-ice skills but my on-ice skills as well. I have found that I am becoming stronger and gaining more endurance when it comes to multiple reps or movements. I like that we can work out on our own pace, and I have help if needed from the coaching staff! “I have been Training with DSP for 4 years now. I originally signed up because I Heard good things about the gym and what they have done with some pretty good hockey players. I wanted to improve my game on the ice and become a better hockey player. 

The biggest obstacle I wanted to overcome was confidence. When I first started coming, I was not very confident that I could lift that much weight. A result of training here is I become a lot more confident, stronger, and an overall better hockey player. My overall feeling of training here is great. Michael and Josh really care about their jobs and help as much as they can. I would recommend others to sign up because it will make them stronger and overall, better at their sport. My goal when I first started coming to the gym was to just to work hard, get stronger and actually be able to do push-ups. I crushed those goals and now we are on to bigger and better things!”

"My main goal was to get stronger and faster that's why I signed up. I loved how the facility was run with everyone doing there own workouts. I have different goals then the other athletes in the gym so it was nice to see the attention that we all got as individuals and not as a group. Everyone was cheering and pushing each other like a team which made me feel like I was part of something bigger then just a gym. They really take care of you and want to help you succeed!"
